I’m not quite sure if I thought this day would ever come. Back in April when we booked this trip, July 10th seemed like light years away, and yet, here we are!
IT’S TIME FOR MEXICO!
This vacation has been a looong time coming! Most people know that due to me playing club soccer since I was young, we didn’t go on many vacations because I was traveling so much with that. Not complaining at all about that because I met so many great people and went lots of awesome places through soccer. But this vacation is definitely well deserved, for the whole family!
After we all speed-packed the last two days, lined up house sitters & dog sitters, and all the other little things that come with traveling out of the country, we finally had all everything ready to depart this morning (even though my mom took procrastination to the extreme and wasn’t finished packing until just moments before we walked out the door).
Thankfully we had the ever so wonderful Thomas to help us load all of our heavy luggage and help me double check for everything this morning. As we got on our way, we all realized we still needed breakfast… Where else to go other than Shipley’s? Excuse me for saying this, but that is the bed damn place for donuts & kolaches in Texas (not counting the Czech stop in West, Texas of course). That being said, we got all of our favorites! Kolaches, do-nut holes, and all of Thomas’ assortment of different donuts.
No travel, anywhere, would be complete without my baseball luggage tag! I’ve had this for as long as I can remember and I never travel without it!
The next 5 days without Thomas might be a little though considering he’s usually the person who keeps me sane… But as he continued to say before I left “You are going to Mexico! You’re gonna be having so much fun, you wont even be thinking about me!” I’m not sure how true that is, but I know I will for sure miss him!
And this, would be the other love of my life… Sophie. Who I will miss probably just as much as I will miss Thomas. So for all my doggy sitters reading this, please give her LOTS of love for me!
We STILL have 30 minutes before we begin to board the plane, because our flight doesn’t take off until 12:20.. Just kidding. It got delayed as I was typing to 12:52. Not that much a delay, but still it doesn’t make me a happy camper. *Sigh* Oh well.
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! I’ll post again soon, hopefully with lots of pictures of our resort and of course, the beaches 🙂
