Weekend Wrap-Up!

Has the weekend ended already? Really? I could re-live the past 3 days a dozen times! If you’re not familiar with one of the biggest rivalries in college football, this weekend was the Red River Rivalry game at The Cotton Bowl in Dallas.  Friday, Thomas and I popped in to the Galleria to do a little shopping and we were delighted to see the familiar sight of the burnt orange and crimson decor.

It’s no secret my longhorns haven’t done so well thus far this season, and well seeing how the Sooners were 4-0, everyone predicted a massacre… Nonetheless, Thomas bought our tickets and we hopped on the train bright and early to get down to Fair Park.

We have always sat right behind Bevo, the real longhorn that makes his way to Dallas from Austin each year for the Red River Rivalry. You can see how close we normally are to him by check out last year’s Red River Rivalry post. Unfortunately, he has fallen ill and was not able to make the trip this year. Bevo XIV is not expected to make it, but we are pulling for the big guy!
I know it’s hard to believe, but our Horns pulled out the W! Maybe it was the thought of a sick mascot at home, or just the pure hate for the Sooners… Who knows. Regardless, it was a pretty one sided game and I have no complaints! We had such an awesome time this year, and can’t wait for next year! HOOK ‘EM HORNS!
Shoutout to one of our good friends for always bringing us down on the field to snap some pics! He’s the best!
Sunday was spent, as it should, brunching and watching the Cowboys! Despite the Cowboys loss, T was sporting his awesome new shirt-

I headed to bed early Sunday night, and Thomas went to work… Not literally… But by the time I woke up Monday morning, Thomas had two tickets to the Rangers ALDS Playoff game… RIGHT BEHIND HOME PLATE!
Score! After ensuring I was able to get off work, I was PUMPED for the game. Great seats, The Rangers have been playing great, and an afternoon with my man, what could go wrong? Other than Derek Holland starting, and giving up 4 runs in the first two innings.. Needless to say, The Rangers game ended up much like The Cowboys’.. With a big fat L, but we still enjoyed the game.
While two out of our 3 teams lost this weekend, I think a Longhorn win over the Sooners is enough to  make up for the other two!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
