{DIY} Shitty to chic: Candle holders

As I’ve said before, I’m prepping for a move… To my own place, which means I need lots of cute decor to make it my own. I know the new trend is candle holders, I see them everywhere, used for so many different things, so when I saw these matching candle holders I saw a DIY project in the making!
Here they are, in all of there glory. Green glass and silver… Boy oh boy I can only wonder what someone was thinking when they saw me buy these!
I love the way Satin spray paint sets on metal, so I knew I would love how this looked!
It was quite the easy DIY, I wish I would have taken a picture of the candle holder after I spray painted it, but of course, I was covered in spray paint, and could not. I literally stood the holder up and sprayed all over it, on the metal and glass. It got a little messy, but clean up was easy!
Our soon to be living room has a bit of a rustic feel (if you couldn’t tell that already), so I felt like this polished hemp would be perfect to cover that awful green glass! I used hot glue and wrapped it tightly around the glass. This was definitely the most difficult part, only because hot glue dries fast and keeping the rows of hemp together got a tad bit hard.
BUT! They came out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!
As of today, I am officially done buying anything decoration related or housewares, actually I’m done buying anything for our apartment (for now). We have just over a month until our move in day, and I am completely out of places to store all of my purchases. That being said, I still have a few projects that are already in the works so you can count on hearing about those in the coming weeks!
