T&T Take on the DR!

It’s officially been a week since Thomas and I returned from the Dominican Republic. It has taken a full week to post this because I seriously needed a vacation from my vacation. I returned home with a serious cold, which was headed for the path of bronchitis (thanks steroids and meds for kicking that!) our sweet pup was sick, and neither Thomas nor I wanted to do anything. AT ALL! I pretty much took a week off from being an adult, spent 95% of my time in bed, and just chilled.
Here’s a little recap of our trip!
We stayed in Punta Cana, at Punta Cana Princess. I have stayed at their sister resort, Grand Sunset Princess, with my family, in The Riviera Maya, you can read about our Mexican adventures HERE.
I may have taken this at the end of our trip, but this is our perfect little room!We had a sunken living room, a balcony with a wonderful view, a massive Jacuzzi in the room and a bathroom to die for! Needless to say, it was beyond easy to relax in this retreat.
I was so in love with the cabin feel on the ceiling of our suite. It was to die for!
It was so nice to just relax by the crystal clear water and white sand.
Thomas decided to upgrade us to the Platinum Suites, and we were both so happy we did! We had access to the beach beds, which made laying by the beach that much better!

One of our excursions was driving sand buggies through the town to Macao Beach! We were also able to see where and how coffee, vanilla and cigars are made on the island.
This is my favorite picture, from the entire trip!
think I may have driven just a tad bit better than Thomas. But he’d never admit it. They were definitely harder to drive than we expected.
Did I mention Thomas dove in to a freezing cold cave? It was so beautiful, but just a tad too frightening for me.
Ever had something that was “Passion Fruit” flavored? Well this is it! It tastes NOTHING like they make it out to be! Its texture was similar to a pomegranate, but its seeds were much larger and it was a bit more tart. Thomas loved it! I stuck with my fresh pineapple!
I’m so thankful we were able to go on this trip. Thomas and I have such busy lives, especially in the summer, and it really allowed us to connect on another level while leaving all of our responsibilities at home! This was such a wonderful vacation, and true to Thomas’ fashion, he was already planning our next getaway before we even touched down in the US!
