Happy HUMP DAAAY (insert annoying camel voice)! I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever, probably because what was supposed to be my two weeks of breaks turned in to two weeks of working way more than I normally do! Not complaining though! Here’s a bit of what I’ve been up to lately:
Found this little gem at my local resale store that I adore. It goes perfectly with our living room furniture. It’s supposed to be a swivel-TV stand, but I’ve got something else in mind for it! AND if you can’t tell, I need a bigger car, this is what happens all too often when I have something bigger to haul. Clearly Thomas doesn’t see this type of stuff, and that’s why he keeps telling me I don’t need a new car.
Speaking of Thomas… I love when we go get pedicures together! On a whim, last week we (mostly me) decided that both of our feet could use some TLC, so we headed for pedicures. Unfortunately, my spa chair didn’t work, so I was a little grumpy while I watched Thomas sit in a perfectly good chair. Murphy’s Law right?
So last Friday night, before the girls headed off for their spring break festivities, I got a little emotional. We prepared for bed the same way we always do when I stay to put them to bed, but tonight, I was not the one who read the stories, tonight it was Brooke. I’ve been their nanny for a couple of years now, I started before Brooke could read, or write, or tell time. That night, seeing her read our bedtime story to Taylor made me a little emotional. I love these two!
On Sunday, Thomas and I headed out for lunch. After going over all of our normal Mexican food restaurants, we decided it was time for something new. We had both driven by Meso Maya a dozen times, and said we should try it a dozen more, but never actually gone in, until Sunday! We were both pleasantly surprised at how good it was! I really had no complaints, which is rare!
I finally organized all of my soon to be apartment stuff. Most of it is decor, but there’s lots of other odds and ends that are awaiting our move. Only a month and 1/2 left, and we sign our lease this Friday!
Lastly, I just want to say I am LOVING all of the new bakery items at Starbucks, as well as the pink, everywhere! My new favorite morning time drink is a venti steamed tea, 1 bag of Calm (chamomile) and 1 bag of Refresh (mint) with a Splenda, and it’s heaven! Go try it!
Being a nanny, when I don’t travel with the family I work for, I get the week off, which is great! So I had a week off from school last week (for Spring Break), and this week I have my afternoons off with the girls! But just because I have a scheduled break from anything, doesn’t mean I actually take a break. Last week I worked an extra morning with the quads, and ended up babysitting all weekend for another family. Needless to say, my sleeping schedules got all messed up…. Which only led to exhaustion… Extreme exhaustion. Last night, I ended up with blurry vision, some sharp eye pain, a serious migraine and extreme vertigo. I slept for about 15 hours, and was still super tired! Thankfully, I’m feeling much better after spending the entire day today doing pretty much nothing.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I get am able to stop procrastinating and am actually able to get my homework done soon! XoXo-Tiffani
