Now that Thanksgiving is over, its 100% Christmas, 100% of the time. Well, at least around these parts. I can’t say I’m not loving it. We got our decorations up this weekend, Thomas and I made 37 trips to Target for all of the little things kept forgetting. Nonetheless, Christmas time has begun, and Dallas has got this Christmas stuff down!
There is so much to do in Dallas on any given day, all of the Christmas fun just adds to it! I have lived in Dallas my entire life, and if there’s one thing I know this city knows how to do right (besides food) it’s Christmas! There are activities every day of every week from the moment Thanksgiving ends until the very last present is delivered on Christmas (and sometimes even after)! Here are a few of this Dallasites favorite spots to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas!
Christmas Capital of Texas- Grapevine, Texas: This is the ultimate Christmas destination. It’s not called the Christmas Capital of Texas for nothing. Grab dinner along Main St., enjoy the lights, take a stroll through the dancing lights. Do it all y’all. Grapevine is like no other when it comes to Christmas. There’s a reason most of the top Christmas activities are in this little city!
North Pole Express: If you’re hoping to channel your inner Tom Hanks and hop on a traditional North Pole Train, this is the spot for you! Get your ticket punched (just like in the movie), hop on the vintage train, and be prepared for the most festive ride of your life, straight to THE North Pole!
ICE! At The Gaylord Texan: If freezing your toosh off is on your agenda, this is the spot to do so! Throw on the fashionable blue parka and check out the gorgeous Ice! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan. Inside the hotel has been transformed to a Christmas Wonderland. With gingerbread decorating, story time with Mrs. Claus, complete with milk and cookies (duh)!
Trains at Northpark: Everyone knows Northpark is the best spot in Dallas to spend the day swiping your credit card, but so many people overlook the trains at Northpark. Tucked away on the second floor are the gorgeous displays of dozens of set ups, depicting all things Dallas with gorgeous trains running through.
Christmas at The Anatole: An outdoor skating rink is enough to have anyone in Dallas hooked! The Anatole in Dallas has breakfast with Santa, ice skating rinks, a reindeer barn, and so much more!
Dallas Arboretum 12 Days of Christmas: We’re used to hitting up the Dallas Arboretum for all of the spring blooms, but did you know they have an equally as big Christmas Display? The 12 Days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum has reindeer, Christmas trees, and of course, life sized displays of the 12 days of Christmas. Grab lunch in one of the gardens and spend the day enjoying the sights!
Addison’s Vitruvian Lights: If you’ve eaten a few too many cookies, taking a walk around Vitruvian Park to admire the millions of lights is probably a good idea! Find a parking spot, grab some hot chocolate, and take a walk over the pond!
Frisco’s Christmas in the Square: Can one really pass up snow flurries every 15 minutes in a magical wonderland of lights? Okay, obviously some states have real snow flurries all day long, but Texas isn’t that lucky. If a few snow flurries and a whole lot of fun is what you’re looking for, head to Frisco’s Christmas in the Square. Carriage rides, ice skating rink and a tree lot are just a few of the things you’ll find at Christmas in the Square!
Six Flags Holiday in the Park: Easily, one of the best spots in the Metroplex to spend the day during the Christmas season. With everything from a giant snow hill, cookie decorating and meet and greet with some of your favorite reindeer, Six Flags knows how to make it really feel like Christmas in Texas.
Texas Christkindl Market: Home to the most adorable little German market, right outside the gates of Globe Life Park in Arlington, the Texas Christkindl Market is perfect to snag some holiday treats, unique gifts, or just spend the afternoon with the family. It runs November 25th- December 23rd, Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm, Saturdays 10am-10pm, and Sundays 12pm-7pm.
Ice Skate at Galleria Dallas around the giant Christmas Tree (Lighting Nov 28) Home to the tallest indoor tree in the country, the Galleria Dallas’ ice skating rink is brand spankin new and it’s giant y’all. The entire mall is decked with holiday lights and of course, shopping!
Santa’s Village Richardson: Santa’s Village is the cutest little spot, (literally, little) for kiddos to hang out, see Santa and enjoy the holiday season! It runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s from Dec 3-17!

The snacks here had a smooth taste with a bit of cheese and lime juice. To start, we got pork rinds there; they were really flavorful with a spicy kick and smooth taste. Plus, it was a large fresh bag too, venues in Los Angeles are worth the price.
