20 Signs You’re a Dallasite

It’s no secret, Dallas has a very special breed of people, more commonly known as Dallasites. Dallasites are the ones who have always been here, and will probably always be here. Being from Dallas is so much more than just calling the Big D home, it’s knowing and loving everything that comes with this crazy town. With the help of Thomas, and his mom, we came up with a little list of some tell tale signs you’re from the Big D! How Dallas are YOU?

The label on your designer handbag is always facing outwards.
You don’t go to north park without wearing something designer. Lululemon or Tory Burch. Either will work just fine.
You grew up in East Dallas when no one wanted to admit they even traveled there.
You don’t know what the mambo is, but you can perfectly describe a Mambo Taxi to just about anyone.
You know to add 10 minutes to your drive because of traffic
You avoid 635 as much as possible
When an out-of-towner asks where you’re from, you say Dallas, because they just don’t understand that “Preston Hollow” and “East Dallas” are like different states.

You ONLY travel 20 to go to Canton, First Monday Trade Days.

Your monthly Tolltag charges cost almost as much as your designer handbag
Kidd Kraddick was the voice of your mornings growing up until his passing

You know someone isn’t from here if they call 75 “Central.” The tollway is the “central” highway. 75 is where the bars are.
You know construction is never actually done on any highway.
You only use DART to get to the TX/OU game, or when you’re really drunk.
You pose in front of big Tex every year at the State Fair!
You know “Mr. Stop, Collaborate and Listen” is from this fabulous city.
Seeing a Dallas celebrity out-and-about is normal, and you may or may not hang your head in shame when your non-Dallasite friend gawks at them.
You had friends who were on Barney, and it was the coolest thing back in the day.

You know more than one “$30,000 Millionaire.”And you know the city is filled with them!

Whether you’re from Dallas or from Timbuktu, there is something that sticks out about your city, and just screams “I’m a local!” Are you one of those people?
