10 in 10 {Simmer}

When Thomas and I moved in together, we knew one thing was certain… We weren’t going to be as close to some of our favorite restaurants in the heart of Dallas anymore. That being said, it took us almost a year to venture out in our little town to one of the local restaurants. This weeks 10 in 10 is all about Simmer, a gastropub located in the heart of Coppell.

Initially we were hoping to sit on their huge patio, but unfortunately it was rented out for an event. Nonetheless, we were happy to sit near their sprawling wall of windows and enjoy or meal.
As always, we started off with a few cocktails. I was on the verge of a migraine, so Thomas did the majority of the drinking for the both of us!
 First up was a Cactus Flower, which was Thai Chili infused vodka, with muddled apple, and lemon sour! I had a sip… or five… It was delicious, and the perfect spicy cocktail!
 Next up was their delicious Lavender Lemonade! Made with Deep Eddy lemon vodka, lavender syrup, mint, lemon juice and a little soda. Lavender anything is my favorite, so it was a no brainer that I was going to love this one!
For apps, we ordered The Tower, which we totally got confused with and thought they were fried green chilies, but they were actually fried green tomatoes, with a few fried onion rings thrown in. We had some awesome fried chilies in New Mexico- which you can read about in my Birthday Of A Lifetime Post. Regardless, these were awesome, and the dipping sauces added the perfect touch.
We went with a lighter entree to share, considering we had an appetizer and knew we wanted a dessert. Their Tex Mex Salad with chicken was perfect. It was great for a warm night when we were looking for something cool to munch on!
And then it was time to decide on dessert…. They had some awesome options, but after having the bread pudding at Dish a few weeks back, we were on the hunt for more! This Bread Pudding was almost more of a butter cake. It was soo gooey, and light, we almost couldn’t finish it! This dessert seriously gives The Porch’s “Butter Cake” a run for their money! It blew our mind! And if I wasn’t feeling so yuck, I probably would have eaten the entire thing… It was THAT good!
Have you been to Simmer? Or somewhere similar to Simmer? I’d love to hear about it!
