I’m excited to announce a new segment on the blog called “10 in 10,” which is short for 10 New Restaurants in 10 weeks! Lately, we have caught ourselves dining at our few favorite restaurants almost any time we go out… Well this new segment is going to get us out of our comfort zone and get us in to new restaurants! So, each week, for the next 10 or so weeks, there will be a new, awesome restaurant featured on the blog!
Our first stop? Kitchen LTO in the crazy popular area of Trinity Groves. LTO stands for Limited Time Only, meaning the awesome chefs and incredible designers are only there for a limited time. At least once a year, the entire restaurant gets revamped with a new chef, new menu, and entirely new decor.
Thomas and I opted for brunch, mainly because we have been neglecting out brunching opportunities due to being sleepy heads and overly chill Sundays! Kitchen LTO with Chef Blythe Beck definitely got us back in to brunch the right way!
After being sat on their immaculate patio, with great people watching views, I started the morning off right with a Lime in the Coconut, mainly due to my new found love of coconut. This was perfect for a sunny morning on the patio. Thomas opted for a Patio Pounder that lived up to its name! Both drinks were wonderful.
We started off our dining with the Prosciutto Fried Oaxaca with an Avocado creme and Apple Bourbon Bbq sauce. Its reminiscent of a fried cheese stick, just way way better than any of that mozzarella crap, and it has prosciutto, and is fried in a light fluffy batter. It really puts your average cheese stick to serious shame. The avocado creme sauce gave it the perfect edge. Seriously, I could not have asked for a better starter for such an incredible meal.
Sweet southern goodness…Cayenne Garlic Shrimp and Grits. The giant shrimp paired with the savory grits sent my taste buds into southern foodie heaven.
My man opted for the Chicken Fried Stack. Sourdough toast, chicken fried rib eye, 2 eggs over easy and a savory cayenne hollandaise sauce…. It’s like eggs benedict meets chicken fried steak on super powers. Needless to say, we were not disappointed with our meal choices!
Like most people, it was hard for us to turn down dessert. Technically this was our breakfast and lunch, so why not end it with a sweet? We decided on the Oatmeal Cream Pie with Rum Raisin Ice cream and the Makers Mark Banana Pudding, mostly because we each wanted something different. The oatmeal cream pie was immaculate. I managed to avoid all rasins and enjoyed the deliciousness of the cream pie!
The Makers Mark Banana pudding was so good. You could really taste the Makers Mark! The bananas were caramelized on one side, which added an extra sense of deliciousness to the normal delicious bananas. This dessert is perfect for the banana pudding/ whiskey loving person!
Overall, our first stop for 10 in 10 was a huge success! Chef Blyth Beck definitely impressed us with her creative meals. We will certainly be following her to see wherever she goes next! Chef Beck heads out from LTO in just over a month, so go check her out ASAP because there will be a new chef and designer in before you know it!
